Two Parallel Errors

  1. Asking Muslims to become “Christians”
  2. Telling Muslims who want to follow Jesus to remain “in Islam/as Muslims”

Why do these two errors commit the same fallacy?

They both focus on cultural identity, when the focus should really be on Jesus Christ. If we truly believe that Jesus builds his Church, as he said he does, then we must point others toward him instead of a cultural identity.

I agree, although socio-religious identity is important. But is the role of the local believer to figure out idenity, not the role of the foreign expat.

Here is a book I would like to get to eventually: Paul and the Creation of Christian Identity
